Nonnative Plants
About this work
Dye experiments using invasive and nonnative plant species collected from the UCSB campus. The question: what color do the plants that do not belong here actually carry?
Each species gave something different. Some yielded yellow-greens. Some gave almost nothing. Some surprised. The project sits at the intersection of foraging, ecology, and material practice. Part of Art 185LJ at UC Santa Barbara, 2023.
